Legacy apps: ongoing care for old and neglected software

We take over and maintain older software projects that haven't been looked after in years: stabilize, secure and evolve them.

Some applications have been running for years, but nobody dares to touch them: outdated frameworks, missing documentation, the original developers long gone. We take over such projects, get a clear picture, make them dependable again and look after them long term.

Discuss your project

What you have
in hand at the end.

  • An assessment of code, dependencies, servers and risks
  • Security and stability updates without endangering live operation
  • Documentation, deployment and monitoring where none existed before
  • Ongoing care with clear contacts and step-by-step modernization

Collaboration

A clear path.
Shared decisions.

  1. 01

    Take over and understand

We get access, read the code and the environment, and tell you honestly what state the application is in and what is needed first.

  2. 02

    Stabilize

We fix acute risks, update dependencies in small steps and set up backups, deployment and monitoring.

  3. 03

    Maintain and evolve

We run day-to-day operations, implement change requests and modernize where it pays off, instead of rebuilding everything at once.

Frequently asked
questions.

What counts as a legacy app for you?

Any application that is in productive use but outdated or unmaintained for a long time: custom portals, intranets, internal tools or platform apps with missing documentation.

Do we have to rebuild the application?

Not necessarily. It is often more sensible to stabilize the application and renew individual parts step by step. After the assessment we recommend what makes economic sense for you.

What if there is no documentation and nobody left to ask?

That is the normal case. We work our way in through code, servers and database, and document what we find along the way.

Your project. A clear next step.

What should
work better?

We talk about where you stand, possible solutions and a sensible way to start. The first call happens via video, around 30 minutes, wherever you are. You don't need a finished brief for that.
